Biography:
James May is a British television presenter, writer, and journalist, best known for his role in motoring programmes.
Born on January 16, 1963, in Bristol, England, May studied music at Lancaster University. He began his journalism career writing for publications like The Engineer and Autocar.
His television career gained prominence with appearances on motoring shows in the late 1990s. However, he achieved international fame as a co-presenter on the BBC's Top Gear from 2003 to 2015, alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond. He earned the nickname "Captain Slow" due to his deliberate driving style.
Following their departure from Top Gear, May, Clarkson, and Hammond created The Grand Tour for Amazon Prime Video, which premiered in 2016. May also hosts other television programmes, including travel and cooking shows. He is known for his encyclopedic knowledge, quirky humour, and meticulous approach to subjects he covers.
